Maintenance of dresses, shirts, skirts, pants and other clothes that you should not wash with your washing machine:
Most of our clothes have to be hand-washed in lukewarm water around 30- 40 degrees celcius with a mild washing powder.
Wash the pieces inside out to best preserve their colors. Make sure to wash out all of the soap!
Carefully wipe off excess water with a towel, or you can hang/lay the clothes to dry.
If at all possible, let the clothes dry inside out for a while, then let it dry completly right side out.
Do NOT use a tumble dryer, hair dryer or anything simular to speed up the drying process, as the heat might damage the clothing.
If you can use this sort of drying method, it will be written specifically on the piece of clothing.
Some additional tips:
- Solvents of any kind can ruin or damage some garments. So be careful with nail polish, hair spray and nail polish remove, etc.
If possible, put on your nail polish and other chemicals before you dress up.
- Keep different colors from each other. Especially bright colors should not be stored so they are in physical contact with garments with strong colors.
- Keep you skirts, dresses, shirts, trousers etc hanging. Preferably in a clothing bag or a simular storing device.
- Keep other garments neatly folded. Preferably in storage boxes.
To store your corsets, it is reccomended to keep them in a storage box or in a drawer.
If you treat and take good care of your corsets, you will have them in a good shape for long time, and it will not be necessary to wash the corsets often!
But when the corset does need a wash get it dry cleaned! Water could damage the ribs and steel panels.
If you get a spot on the corset then wipe it gently with a damp cloth and press lightly on the stain until it is gone.
If possible, air out the corsets overnight with the inside out by letting it lie on a towel that will extract any moisture.
Most of the clothes come with washing instructions.
If they do not or you have other question; feel free to contact us! |
